JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The VPCF is the connection between the Ventura Police Department and the community. We support programs that connect officers and residents through youth development, community engagement, and officer support—building trust, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful opportunities that enhance public safety and well-being for all who call Ventura home.

Our Commitment In Action

The Ventura Police Explorer Program offers local youth ages 14–18 a behind-the-scenes look at a career in law enforcement. Led by Ventura Police officers and staff, this hands-on program includes patrol ride-alongs, accident investigations, defensive tactics, evidence collection, community service, and field trips to meet other first responders.

Each December, Ventura Police officers and staff partner with Walmart to give local children from low-income and foster families an unforgettable holiday experience. Kids are paired with officers for a few hours of sweet treats, gift shopping, wrapping presents, and visiting with Santa. Sponsored by the Ventura Police Community Foundation, each child receives a gift card and commemorative t-shirt to help make the season cheerful and bright.

The Women’s Wellness event is a community program dedicated to helping women receive valuable information regarding their personal health and well-being. Our professional and mentor speaker presentations, in coordination with VPD, support women of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities. Join in the learning, sharing, and celebration. The venues are all local and fun and are not just a classroom presentation!

Community Programs

National Police Week is a time to reflect on the bravery and selflessness of those who serve and protect our communities. It is also an opportunity to recognize the sacrifices made by the families and loved ones of law enforcement officers and a time to show support for law enforcement officers who continue to serve and protect our communities.

National Police Week

The Ventura Police Department welcomed Asher, a comfort therapy dog gifted by VIP Dog Teams, in 2022. Asher, a Cavadoodle (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle mix), helps ease stress after traumatic events, comforts victims and witnesses, and brings calm to high-stress situations. Whether visiting crime victims, attending community events, or offering a moment of peace at the Police Station, Asher plays a vital role in promoting health and wellness.
